Hurley Piano Unveils ChimeCandy: A Game-Changing Piano App for Neurodivergent Learners at SXSW 2025

Austin, TX – Feb 28, 2025 – Hurley Piano, an Austin-based leader in piano instruction for neurodivergent children, is excited to announce the launch of ChimeCandy, an innovative mobile game that makes learning piano fun, engaging, and accessible.

ChimeCandy transforms traditional piano lessons into an interactive arcade-style experience. Players follow falling notes and tap corresponding keys on a touchscreen keyboard, mastering piano fundamentals in an intuitive, gamified way. The app’s design is tailored not only for neurodiverse learners but also with accessibility in mind for partially sighted students.

Developed by Richard Hurley and a team of talented interns from Austin Community College, ChimeCandy has been rigorously tested by autistic students at The Williams School in Austin, TX to refine its accessibility and effectiveness for neurodivergent learners.

ChimeCandy is optimized for iPad and also delivers a seamless experience on iPhone, Android, MacOS, and Windows (via the Android Play Store for Windows).

As part of the SXSW 2025 festivities, Hurley Piano will showcase ChimeCandy at live music venues along Austin’s iconic 6th Street, celebrating the city’s legacy as the Live Music Capital of the World.
